We are a for-profit corporation highly dedicated to caring first, earning profits second! We believe:
- Substantially more resources need to be dedicated to caring for
seniors, including their caregivers and dependents. The "baby boomer" generation is huge. We must complete the infrastructure for this certain and imminent demographic shift. Government is thinking very short-term, using long-term reserves today with little regard for tomorrow... after all, the elections are now, not in 15 years!
- Additional tax credits should be made available to families that take
care of their elderly loved ones. A strong, moral society supports its seniors... and believes that seniors can and should play an active role in society. A retired citizen is not an obsolete citizen, but can redirect his/her skills, wisdom and experience into new areas that benefit family and community.
- The "family" needs to be reborn. American values support
consumption, individual independence in which we take care of ourselves and let society take care of those in need. A weak family creates or is created by a weak society. Embrace, honor, and celebrate differences but remember your family. Take care of them and assume they will care for you in your time of need. A strong family results in better mental and physical health, less dependence on government handouts, and a greater feeling of happiness and peace in family, community and country.
- Social Security and Medicare need a "fix", not demolition, to lead to
secure, sustained income and medical care for our seniors. There has been much talk and little action by Congress, again because focus seems short-term. Again, the problem is not going away, and it is irresponsible to defer the solution to future politicians or to the community and faith-based organizations. If we devote funding to highways and sidewalks, we can certainly take care of our parents!
- Seniors can live happier and healthier lives through good nutrition,
socialization, transportation systems, and physical/mental stimulation.
